I'd have to take issue with you ... Born To Run is the Best Bruce with The River running a close second.

Never happen. The two stories are direct opposites. In "Born To Run" things are bad now, but could be better in the future. There's still some hope, and everyone's working for that.

In "The River" all of the good times are in the past. There's only acceptance that things aren't ever going to get any better in the future.

Sometimes life just sucks.

My point exactly ... and that is why Born To Run is Best Bruce ... he's still holding out hope. The River is for when you're depressed ... or maybe for when you're suicidal and need a good push. But it's definitely second to BTR.

So where do you put Philadelphia on the list? It's certainly colored more like River, but to me just doesn't feel as despairing (even though he is saying he's getting ready to die). Or do you just not like it? I've got to admit that I can listen to it on repeat just for the music.
